India's Long Bonds Are a Buy on Wider Spreads, Bajaj's Iyer Says
India's long-tenor sovereign bonds present a buying opportunity, thanks to a wide yield spread over shorter notes, according to a top official at Bajaj Finserv Ltd. 'There's a reasonable amount of demand, especially for bonds at the longer end,' Lakshmi Iyer, group president for investments at the financial services conglomerate said in an interview with Bloomberg TV. With long yields rising above 7%, the segment is drawing demand from pension funds and insurers, she said.

Africa Ends Decade of Debt Distress With Mozambique Spread Fall
For the first time in a decade, no African country has a sovereign risk premium in distress territory. The average additional yield on Mozambique's bonds over US Treasuries fell below 1,000 basis points this month, making it the last country on the continent to retreat from levels widely considered to indicate debt distress. It's the first time since 2015 that no African country has had a four-digit yield spread, according to JPMorgan Chase & Co. data.
